Access For Students Privacy Information

We are committed to respecting the privacy of individuals.  We want you to understand how we use and protect the personal information that you provide to us as part of your use of our  services, making every effort to ensure that your personal information is processed in a fair, open and transparent manner.  We regard your privacy as important and we fully comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

How we process and use this information
We will only use the data you provide to us for the specific purpose of carrying out your assessment.

Why do we process your information?
We have a legitimate interest in obtaining necessary information to enable us to conduct your assessment and to contact you about appointments, documentation required, etc in relation to this.

Who do we share your information with?
We will only share information with DSA-QAG (a disabled student’s allowance quality assurance scheme that helps to ensure assessors provide a high quality service).  The only other time we will share your information with anyone is if we are legally obligated to share it with third parties (eg. as result of a court order).

How long will your information be held?
We will keep your information for a a minimum of six years after your last assessment or review with us.

Disclosure & Protection of your Information
All the information you provide to us, is securely processed and stored within the UK and will only be accessed by staff who have the appropriate authorisation.  We have in place administrative, technical and physical measures internally designed to guard against and minimise the risk of loss, misuse or unauthorised processing or disclosure of the personal information we hold.

Your Rights
You have certain rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you, although those rights may not apply in all cases or to all information that we hold about you.  We will tell you if this is the case when you contact us.  We will respond to you within 30 days.

You have the right to request that we:

Provide you with a copy of the personal information we hold about you
If the information we hold about you is in accurate, you can ask us to put it right.
Delete the personal information we hold
Restrict the way in which we process your information
Consider any valid objections to our processing of yourpersonal information
